Hip, hip, hooray! We celebrated reaching the 100th day in lots of fun and exciting ways! Students were greeted with the sign below when they entered the classroom...
and found special treats on their desks...
During journal writing time students responded to the question "If you could have 100 of anything what would you pick and why?" Answers included 100 pets, 100 video games, and 100 wishes...
Students displayed their knowledge of mathematical operations by creating addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems with 100 as the answer...
During writing workshop the children composed their final drafts of "When I am 100 years old..." narratives. Narratives included what they would look like when they're 100 years old, what they would spend their day doing, and what technology would be like in the future...
We were 100% stylish when we created glasses in the shape of the number 100...
The class listened to the books 100 Day Worries and Twas the Night before the 100th Day and then created venn diagrams to compare and contrast the stories...
Other activities included joining first and second grade in the gym to do lots of exercises such as 100 jumping jacks and 100 hops and listening to math songs about the number 100.
Here's to many more days of learning and fun!
