Dr. Seuss on the Loose

Dr. Seuss was on the loose in our class on Read Across America Day! We started the day writing about our favorite Dr. Seuss books in our journals. Then, it was off to kindergarten to share Dr. Seuss books with our book buddies. First, each 3rd grader read a book to a kindergartener and then the kindergartener read a book back to the 3rd grader. I then read Dr. Seuss' My Many Colored Days to both classes and we discussed how certain colors make us feel.

Back in class, another Seuss book we read was Oh, the Places You'll Go. Afterwards, the students wrote about a place they would like to go on hot air balloon patterns they decorated. Another Seuss-tastic display in our classroom are paper plate Cat in the Hats displaying our Theodor Giesel (aka Dr. Seuss) biographies.

Students can learn about Dr. Seuss and play free interactive learning games at
Seussville

     Happy learning!
