It's a new month, which means it's time for Farley's linky party.
It feels like I was setting up my classroom for a new school year just a few weeks ago, but I just put up my November bulletin board. Which happens to be one of my FAV bulletin boards of the year, Turkeys in Disguise! My students and their families work together to disguise a turkey so it won't get eaten on Thanksgiving. Then, they write a persuasive essay explaining why their turkey creation shouldn't get gobbled up. Every year I'm struck by the creativity of my students and their families and this year was no exception. There was a Lego turkey...
a royal king named "Theodore"...
a baby, complete with a 3D paper pacifier and real diaper...
an astronaut...
a police officer...
a rapper...
and even an Angry Bird!
Below is the completed bulletin board...
We don't seem to get any changing leaves where I live now and I definitely miss it! And I definitely agree with home-made food, nothing like what Mum used to make!

Eeek! You just reminded me that I need to get busy with my Turkeys in Disguise! Love your kids' ideas!

Omg I love the turkey bulletin board! I wish we could do fun, festive things like that but there is just no time with my new curriculum :(
ReplyDeleteI hear you! The way I got it done was by assigning it as a take home family involvement project after we learned how to write a persuasive essay.
DeleteVery cute! I always love what they create each year at home. My favorite was the angry bird! One of my kids one year did an iron man turkey disguise with like copper! Too cute!
